The main vehicle in this picture is the Shanghai sedan (上海牌), which is modeled after a Mercedes-Benz 220S.  The Shanghai Motor Corporation started work on this model during the Great Leap Forward in 1958. Studying Up on Electrics After Work at the Coal Mine, Yongning County, Ningxia 1974

庄梦雄, 下班之后, 1974  (木刻) This wood engraving is by  a Hangzhou youth sent to work in a coal mine in Ningxia province. The engraving depicts a fellow worker at the mine, who like other sent-down youth tried to keep up on their university studies after work.
